  1. Best Blogs at Sea

    1. These blogs discus new things that are happening on the Carnival Brand ships. The blogger John Heald posts about the news on each ship, and places the ships travel to. Healds also uploads different pictures from the ships and the different destinations.

    2. This blog appeals to travelers and employees who want to know more about the company they work for.

    3. This blog does a great job meeting this goal. John Heald says “These are designed to entertain you, to fascinate you, and - when you need it - to help you.” (He was referring to the blogs). After reading the blogs they all met those standards.

    4. On the latest post there is a video of the Pacific Dawn’s kitchen assembly line.

    5. John Heald, is present on Facebook. You can “like” his page; however there is not much on it.

    6. The difference between Facebook and the blog is there is much more post on the blog there is on Facebook. Also, there is more information about the company on the blog.

    7. John Heald is the Carnival Cruise Lines Sr. Cruise Director. With this blog he informs you of a “crew only” view.

  2. James Cusick Executive Purser with P&O Cruises

    1. James post about his travel and his experiences at sea. He captures detailed pictures of the ships interior and exterior designs. He posts about the different places he visits as well.

    2. James blog will spark the interest of travelers, and people who are interested on vacationing with P&O Cruises.

    3. I think James meets his goal because he leaves detail posts and includes pictures.

    4. James has a post of the crew members doing an emergency drill. The blog covers many different areas about the services and staff on the ship. James posts about different foods he has tired at different locations and his thoughts on them.

    5. James does not have a Facebook page or Twitter. P&O Cruises can be found on Facebook and twitter.

    6. James posts on his blog are more personal then the company posts on Facebook and Twitter.

    7. James Cusick has been a part of P&O Cruises for about 27 years. He has worked in all different areas of the ship such as, Administration, Food & Beverage, Accommodation, Tours and Front Office, and a few other positions.

  4. Yo Chicago Blog
    http://yochicago.com/crains-three-sales-in-three-months-for-ritz-carlton-residences/16781/

How does the blog convey the archives to an audience?
-The blog is easily readable and shows related posts from the blogs. The archives are easy to click and there are many different links to click on.

Who does the blog intend to serve?
-The blog seems to serve towards travelers but seems to connect more to the locals considering it is focusing on the construction of the building, along with the condos.

    Does it meet its goal?
-Joseph Askins does a good job at meeting his blog idea by focusing on the construction and allowing the reader to see pictures and have facts of the construction and the hotel on the blog.

What image of archives and archivists is conveyed by the blog?
-There are many images on his different posts and allow the reader to follow the look of the area and see how the construction is going. There is also a video that allows people to see the construction in full view.

Does the blogger have a presence on Twitter or Facebook?
    -Yes, on both.

How is that similar or different?
-For Facebook the blogger allows a picture of choice and the article I would like to post. It allows all of my friends to see the blog and conncets staight to it. For Twitter it is similar yet does not allow the picture.

What topic(s) does the author claim knowledge of in the industry.
-The author conveys to the reader that he is knowledgeable of the area, room numbers, prices and many other things to do with the construction.

  5. Simply Magnificent. Ritz-Carlton Blog.
    http://www.theresidenceschicago.com/blog/?cat=30

How does the blog convey the archives to an audience?
-The blog is very easy to follow considering it is strictly for the Ritz and is posted on their website. The archives are easily accessible because there are many different links and people to click on. The posts just continue up and down so there is no need to even click on a former date to receive an earlier post.

Who does the blog intend to serve?
-The blog is aimed more towards former customers and those seeking to travel world-wide and high-class. Also those highly interested in seeing what is new for the upcoming constructions and hotels.

    Does it meet its goal?
-It certainly meets its goal considering everything the site has to offer. The blogs range but also connect to one another allowing the blog to be a valid source of information for a traveler and for a loyal guest.

What image of archives and archivists is conveyed by the blog?
-There are plenty of pictures everywhere. Every post consists of a picture and some even had videos like the one on construction. It even had a little side note that mentioned it was a live-cam. These pictures attract the reader and let them in on how things are coming along, and also with new places and events within the hotel.

Does the blogger have a presence on Twitter or Facebook?
    -Yes on both.

How is that similar or different?
-The Facebook and Twitter are the exact same as the Yo Chicago blog.

What topic(s) does the author claim knowledge of in the industry.
-The author puts on mainly everything there is to know about the Ritz-Carlton and the new and old locations. There is direct knowledge of the industry and all of the features that happen within the hotel.

  6. http://www.hospitality-industry.com/index.php/news/
    http://lhonline.com/

    1. Hospitality industry .com covers all areas of hospitality industry. If you want to follow all of them, it is really hard for you to do so. But, they categorize them into each sector so that the readers follow them easily. When you are interested in only hotel area, you can read the articles related to hotel news.
Lodging Hospitality has the archives; “Latest News”,” Latest Features”, “ Latest Opinion”, and “Top Reads”. It is easy to follow when you want to know which news is popular.

    2. These blogs intend to serve people who want to know what is happening in whole hospitality industry. Since both of them give various information
about this industry, it is good for people who want to work in this industry.

    3. I think both of blogs that I am following meet their goal. Since this industry should be connected in world –wide view, both of them offer latest news of not only out of the states but also out of the countries. You can gain global knowledge of this industry.

    4. In my opinion, Hospitality industry.com has much clearer image of archives than Lodging Hospitality blogs, because the former has categorized the sections simply while the latter has mixed some of their news.

    5. Both of blogs have twitter accounts that allow the readers to get timely and simply news from them. Also, their twitter accounts help the bloggers too, because they do not have to inform the same event information by writing long blog right before the event starts. In addition, Lodging Hospitality has a Facebook account too.

    6. Both of twitter accounts are exact same as their original blog entry. However, Lodging Industry’s facebook page allows the readers or people who “like” them to comment on their wall and share the information.

    7. The authors in both blogs claim to know a lot of news of this whole industry. They convey to the readers not only fun events but also financial news of each category.
